Computer and communications technology

Assalamualaikum and hello again! :)

Wow. Look at the title. Sound serious, isn't it?

We are going to learn about the elements of computer and communication technology today. So, stay focus. *holding cane*

When you have a computer, you would want to communicate using it beside using it for the purpose of completing your tasks. Therefore, there are five important elements that you need to be aware of (they are only the basics of computer and communication technology). I have simplify the elements into a mind map.

Usually, I'll do mind mapping to get the whole picture of a topic (I learn better through overview not details) but I know I need to explain what is represented by those symbols for your understanding. (I hope it helps.hee~)

Explanation.


1- People (the chocolate coloured 'orang lidi' on top left)

Of course it is the most important element because humans are the ones who are being the user, develop the procedure, software or hardware, and do the operating. There are two categories of people. They are professional and end users. Professional user is basically a person with official training while end user is the one who uses computer for personal.

2- Procedure

 It is basically an ordered set of tasks for performing some actions. It provides a clear specification for the sequence, timing, execution, etc of a process.

3- Data

From I've leant, data is code represented by some electromagnetic energy- electricity, radio waves, lights that are transmitted through a medium. It is mostly in a digital form and can represent facts, concepts or instruction that can be interpreted or processed. The data is stored on the computer system. The unit for data is bit, byte, kilobyte etc.

4- Hardware

Hardware can be defined as the physical objects that are part of the computer system. It is a part of basic operations of a computer system, IPOS. But now the basic operations of a computer system has become IPOSC which is including communication.

5- Sotware

It refers to the instructions that controls the functioning of the computer. There are 2 types of software which are Operating System (OS) and application software.

These are the basic information before we go further into the complicated telecommunication and networking. *evil look*
